What is Valentine's Day Celebration?

What is Valentine's Day Celebration?

The celebration of Valentine's Day in India began to become popular following the economic liberalization

Valentine’s day around the world is celebrated in the name of Saint Valentine, but who’s this mysterious saint and why’s the festival celebrated with such gusto! Although the truth behind the festival is murky, there are a few stories you would like to know. It’s said that Valentine was a priest who served during the 3rd century in Rome, And when emperor Claudius II announced that single men made better soldiers than those with families and wives, he outlawed marriage for young soldiers.

Valentine went against this injustice being done to young men and started performing secret marriages for young lovers. When the emperor found out about Valentine’s actions, he ordered that the saint be put to death. The other tale suggests that the saint may have been killed while helping the Christians escape harsh Roman prisons, where they were tortured. Gradually, Saint Valentine became so popular that couples all across the world started celebrating Valentine’s Day as the day of love.

The promise verse for today is taken from Isaiah 49:16. “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”

The lord says to you today that you are very precious to him and that He has you in the palms of his hand. He says that he will not allow anything to harm you or even touch you. Whenever we want to keep something safe and protected, we cover and keep it inside our palms. This is how the Lord is going to keep you. Today, God is going to protect you from all your enemies. You may be traveling long distances every day; the Lord says you are in the palm of his hand and he will protect you. There is another verse in The Bible in Psalm 121:7; “The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life.” Similarly, the Lord is going to protect you and watch over you today.

I remember reading the story of a small sparrow, which was stuck on the pipe of someone's house. The weather was very cold that its legs froze and was stuck on the pipe. Though the sparrow was alive, he could not fly away because his legs were stuck to the pipe. Do you know what the owner of the house did? He came and covered the sparrow with both of his palms and protected it from the wind and cold weather. He kept it hidden till its legs became free from the pipe. Because of the protection and warmth of his hands, the sparrow survived.

The Lord is going to protect you just like a mother today. The Bible says in Psalm 17:8: “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” Yes! The Lord loves you beyond measure that you are the apple of his eye. Thank the Lord because you are the apple of his eye.

It is good to share another promise of God with you.  It is found in Exodus 15:2,

“The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.” Today, the Lord is your song. Do you ask, “how will the Lord be my song?” When our little daughter gives us trouble at times since when I clean her up she will dirty the diaper again the very next moment or she will wake up just when I would have put her to sleep and at that time I will see how I react for just after a moment of a sigh I will start singing some song about the Lord.

I will take our daughter again in my hands to change her diaper or put her to sleep.  I used to keeps singing and keeps a smile on her face and do it. That’s how the Lord becomes your song. Even when someone is making you angry or someone is bringing you sadness or something is making you afraid make the Lord your song. When someone is saying, “Hey you fool. You will never do anything right, say, “Praise the Lord” and start singing. Soon that feeling of anger or sadness or fear will be driven away. Then you will receive strength in the Lord to do what is right.

That is how God becomes your salvation and becomes your song. Will you make the Lord your song? It keeps you in the salvation of the Lord. Never give in to bad character or thoughts. In the Bible, we see how the psalmist found refuge in God. Whenever he faced troubles he inquired of God’s will. He did just what the Lord said and that is why he was called by God as the man after His own heart. David always sang of the Lord and sang to the Lord. His psalms are songs that declare God’s praise.

You should also turn to God and thank Him at all times. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19).

Real love means loving-kindness and compassion, the kind of love that does not have any conditions. If he can't handle you at your worst then he does not deserve you at your best. Real love means seeing beyond the words spoken out of pain, and instead of seeing a person's soul.

God Loves us! Don't forget his love. His love is everlasting. He is always waiting for you to give his heart to you. Whenever you ask, he will come and talk to you, The only one, who has given his own life for us on the cross and died for you.
